We value All Children
We serve three to five year old children and their families. We welcome children of all abilities and backgrounds. Our safe, nurturing learning environment is filled with unconditional love and acceptance. We want all children to feel safe and to love coming to school. We hope to develop a family feeling within each class. We strive to make our school a place where the children desire to be and will never forget, a place that will have a positive influence on them for years to come.
We value the optimal growth and development of the whole child
We set high expectations and goals for each child in accordance with their learning style, readiness and capabilities at each developmental stage. We look at each child as a unique and special person with gifts and talents that need to be identified and encouraged. We take a holistic approach to child development, stimulating and encouraging physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. We believe that each child has a special purpose and it is our job to help that child develop and aspire to be the best that he or she can be.
We value a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment
Our environment is designed to engage children without over-stimulating them, nurturing their curiosity and a love for learning. Our children are given the opportunity to create, solve problems and develop deeper thinking skills while playing and working in a safe, caring environment. We work closely with the children to develop rich learning centers that balance play and structure in a format that develops creativity and discipline within each child.
We value respectful communication between teachers, children, and families
Communication is critical in our school and comes in many forms. Our teachers love children and put their needs first. They love them enough to be consistent even when they are tired. We develop a safe feeling within the classroom by keeping a consistent schedule or communicating changes so the children will understand what is happening on an ongoing basis. We involve the children in planning and changing the environment whenever possible. We speak to each child with the same respect that we expect from them. We teach the children how to speak to each other appropriately in order to get their needs met, make lasting friendships, and solve problems. We seek to establish a collaborative relationship between parents and teachers, sharing information and ideas to create a supportive partnership for each child.
We value all families
We try to meet every family where they are in their lives, understanding that each family’s situation and stage of development is unique. We treat each family as our family and trust that they will treat us with the same respect. We offer parent education in the classroom through conferences, newsletters, written materials and our web site. We also open ourselves up to communicate with parents on an individual basis whenever possible. We believe that raising a child takes a family and our school is your family. We have financial expectations and goals that we hope for from each family, but we also realize that each family will give what they can according to their season. We try to offer classes and programs that meet the needs of our families. We try to be flexible in our scheduling as much as we can be considering the families we are serving. We offer opportunities to work in the classroom, on the playground, and in leading the development of our school in hopes that each family will find their place within our school community.
